2020 was a busy year for the teams at dita Solutions and World Wide Swim School (WWSS). Due to their combined success, the decision was made for further expansion to the evolving companies and acquire two new team members. This is in the form of our new Digital Marketing Coordinator, Katie McCaffery, and our Customer Relationship Coordinator, Vickie Barron. Katie will ensure our digital platforms are both seen and heard across the board. Vickie will be busy in her communications role with our rapidly increasing Swim School clientele, so as to ensure all their needs are adequately met.
dita and WWSS’s new Digital Marketing Coordinator
Katie has an expansive career background, namely in Journalism, Sales & Marketing and Business Development. Before jumping onboard with dita Solutions and WWSS, she was an Account Manager for a national Veterinary Distributor. She also freelanced in digital marketing for small to medium businesses. Katie started her career working for a national newspaper in her homeland of Ireland. Since then, she has continued to finetune these skills with regular article and feature writing in numerous publications. Research, writing and analytics are her passions. So these skills are sure to contribute to dita Solutions and WWSS’s already successful platforms.
Katie moved into her first home with her partner Jonathan, and their two fur kids, Bruce and Gigi, in October 2020. They all enjoy walking with them along the waterfront every day. Another one of her favorite pastimes is to peruse the local area for great coffee shops and dinner spots.
Katie is settling in well to dita Solutions and WWSS and has found the team environment and atmosphere most welcoming. She is also excited to discover how, together, they can further develop the companies in the future.
WWSS’s new Customer Relationship Coordinator
A little bit about Vickie’s background; she is married to her wonderfully supportive husband of 26 years and they have two beautiful daughters, aged 23 & 17yrs. During her working years, she was involved in retail for ten consecutive years. This consisted of managing stores, training & developing staff, as well as leading the state of QLD. When she and her husband decided to have family, she wanted to explore other avenues to allow her to be a stay-at-home Mum. She happened to come across party planning. It was important for her to contribute to her family’s finances. And, as any new Mum would agree, to also get her out of the house and maintain her sociability. Her hobby turned into a successful business, which she is hugely proud of.
A Growing Family has Changing Needs
However, as Vickie and her family grew and changed, a new adventure and opportunity came her way. This led her to becoming a swim teacher. Her swimming career started in 2007. After that, ten years ago, she was fortunate enough to meet Laurie Lawrence, who presented her with a job opportunity. She was excited to learn from the best of the best, and to become an outstanding teacher. She is still teaching today, and is now wearing many hats, following her acceptance of this exciting new role for WWSS. Branching out into the unknown can be overwhelming. However Vickie is a big believer in achieving anything she puts her mind to.
During her downtime, Yoga helps her to remain grounded and aligned with her true purpose; it also helps her to keep a clear vision and focus. She also enjoys walking her dogs every morning and is one of her favorite things to do to unwind.
Vickie is excited to be joining the WWSS team. With a great, supportive network to learn from, she believes they can achieve great things together. For any enquiries into World Wide Swim School, you can contact Vickie at [email protected] or on our website here.
